Terms of use
Who publishes this site
SyllabusCalc is written, published and operated by one individual, reachable at contact@syllabuscalc.com. Where these terms say "I," that is who they mean.
Use of the site
SyllabusCalc is free to use for personal, educational, and classroom purposes. You may link to any page. Do not scrape the site into a competing product, misrepresent its output, or attempt to disrupt its operation.
Informational arithmetic, not advice
The calculators perform arithmetic on numbers you supply. They are not academic, legal, or financial advice, and they do not know your school's policies. Grading scales, rounding rules, credit values, and academic-standing rules are set by your instructor and institution, and those policies control over anything computed here. Decisions that affect grades, standing, scholarships, admissions, or graduation should be confirmed with your school.
No warranty
The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We work to keep the math correct — every tool is checked against an independent test suite — but we do not warrant that the site is error-free or uninterrupted, and we are not liable for decisions made in reliance on it. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to stop using the site (and, ideally, to tell us what went wrong so it gets fixed).
Intellectual property
The site's original text, design, and code are mine. You may quote reasonable excerpts with attribution and a link. The arithmetic itself — formulas like a weighted average — belongs to everyone.
Third-party services
Pages may load resources from third parties (currently Google Fonts and Google Analytics; potentially advertising in the future, as described in the privacy policy). Those services are governed by their own terms.
Changes
These terms may be updated; the effective date above reflects the current version. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
